C-Meter: November 2002

Published May 12, 2021

After last month's sudden jump, our monthly Economic Confidence Meter returned to recent form, plunging more than half a point in all three categories. CIOs' confidence in the chances for a recovery in the overall economy in the next three months fell from 5.8 on a scale of 1 to 10, to 5.1. The score for our respondents' industry categories dropped to 5.2, and the score for their own companies now stands at 6.0. The computer services sector suffered the greatest change, collapsing more than a point and a half, from 5.9 to 4.3, while the consulting/professional services sector fell just six tenths of a point, to 5.6.
